DOES EVERYONE MAKE A TEAM? HOW ARE TEAMS STRUCTURED?
Not everyone who attends tryouts will make the team. Roster invitations are sent via email 2-3 days after the conclusion of all the posted tryouts and will include the coach’s background, practice dates and times, tournament calendar, and anticipated competition level. Youth basketball is structured into three divisions: Division I (the Highest Level of Youth Competition), Division II, and Division III. At most grade levels, we will have multiple teams at similar competition levels.
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT? WHERE ARE the TOURNAMENTs LOCATED?
JOCO players can expect to attend two 90-minute practices per week, typically held between 5:30-9:00 pm, Monday through Thursday evenings. Practices will be held at the JOCO Training Facility in Olathe and hocker grove middle school. All tournaments are held within the Greater Kansas City area (Shawnee, overland park, Lawrence, and Kansas City). JOCO teams play 6-8 games/per month in a tournament or tournament + league format.
WHAT IS THE COST?
spring/summer Season (march 2026 - august 2026) | $175/month
One-time uniform fee | $70 for the set + optional $38 shooting shirt
Player fees are due in advance, the month before participation. reminders and invoices will be sent the 1st of every month.
